Once Upon a Yesterday

Once Upon a Yesterday seems like a long time coming (considering my last album [The Life, O’Reilly] was released in 2017)!  “Once” continues the foray into alternate folk/light rock, (and tunes with vocals), with influences of pop, jazz, but also the more “orchestral theme-like” influences similar to those on Serious Underscore.

The CD includes more than few introspective tunes as either remembrances or expressions of longing for the past (hence the “yesterday” in the title) including Yesterday Dreamin’, Only Yesterday, and even Long Way Home.  My appreciation for the movie-track works of John Barry (and others) is evident in my tribute to 007 with “Just the World.”

Since folk music has always been a hopeful instrument of societal change, (and I always considered myself a folk singer at heart), Never Tomorrow showcases the current plight of Ukraine.

In Between is a melodic answer to some ongoing (local) criticism that my tunes “aren’t ever upbeat” — and it is!

Other tunes refine the full instrumentation approach, vocal lines, and melodic simplicity of “Opposites.”

$8.00 (USD) – This includes shipping/handling.  I can do this not because I cut any production corners, but because I am the composer, arranger, musician, and producer (plus, I believe that someone who wants a real copy is someone I want in my corner — thanks!).          timpatico@songwraith.com
